What is microneedling with the SkinPen?

Microneedling is collagen induction therapy. Collagen and elastin are two essential proteins that keep our skin looking young, smooth, and elastic. Unfortunately, they deteriorate over time, leaving us with wrinkles and laxity. Microneedling generates new collagen and elastin production by stimulating your body’s natural healing response via tiny microinjuries in your skin’s surface.

The SkinPen is the device we use to perform microneedling. It was the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, and it remains our favorite for giving you the best results as quickly and comfortably as possible.

What does microneedling treat?

Microneedling is an excellent option for treating:

What is microneedling recovery like?

It’s normal to have some redness and sensitivity similar to a sunburn for a couple of days after a microneedling treatment. You can resume your usual activities within 24 hours—just make sure you avoid applying makeup until your skin has healed completely.

How many SkinPen microneedling treatments will I need?

Most people need a series of at least 3 treatments spaced about a month apart to see their best results. You’ll likely notice a difference in your skin within a week, and it will continue to improve for several more weeks.
